If you’re a plumber or civil installer working PE pipelines in Australia you will need to complete a nationally accredited Unit of Competency:
– PMBWELD301E – Join polyethylene plastic pipelines using butt welding. This covers the technique for fusing PE pipe ends together under heat and pressure to create strong, permanent joins.
– PMBWELD302E – Join polyethylene plastic pipelines using electrofusion welding. This covers the process for joining PE pipe using fittings embedded with electrical heating elements for precise, reliable connections.

Face-To-Face Training:
Our trainers are industry experts and you get hands-on experience with the latest tooling
The online module takes between 1-3 hours, depending on your familiarity with the electrofusion process, and consists of videos and multi-choice questions covering the best practice steps.
The theory must be completed prior to your face-to-face training session at Larapinta, Brisbane, QLD.
The face-to-face session runs for approximately 4-5 hours with students getting to perform three welds using the latest in electrofusion tooling.
You’ll be guided by experienced trainers who bring real-world insight from the field, ensuring practical and relevant training that is aligned with current industry expectations.
By the end of the course, you’ll not only understand the “how” of electrofusion, but also the “why” – why precision matters, why safety is paramount and why skilled welders are vital to Australia’s pipelines.
